One might think the biggest increases would be coming out of the big and populated, but that's not the case. According to the Portland Press Herald, rent prices increased 17.4% in Portland in the past 12 months. This stat is only second to Jackson, Mississippi.

I have seen some people frustrated with the cost of living but also with the lack of apartments availalbe, which I'm sure has a lot to do with the increase.  Have you noticed this while looking for a new place to rent over the past year? Let us know on our Facebook page.
