The Cooking Channel show "Extra Virgin" took a road trip to the Portland-area and visited some well-known eateries as part of their broadcast. According to the Portland Press Herald, the show visited the Holy Donut and Portland Lobster Company in Portland, Scratch Baking Company in South Portland as well as The Well at Jordan's Farm in Cape Elizabeth. The episode of the show airs this week.

Extra Virgin is a show featuring actress Debi Mazar and her Italian husband Gabriele Corcos. It's centered around their love of Tuscan food but also their love of traveling to different culinary hotspots and sampling some of the local favorites. The show then shares the recipes on the Cooking Channel website.

When Mazar and Corcos visited Portland, they were told they had to visit the Holy Donut to try some of the specialty treats. They picked up lobsters at Portland Lobster Co. (and also acquired a recipe for a lobster roll), went to Scratch Baking Co. for some more baked goodies and then wrapped up their culinary tour with an exquisite dinner at the Well at Jordan's Farm, where they once again walked away with several recipes they share on their website.

Extra Virgin was just one of many shows the Cooking Channel filmed when they visited Portland last summer. Check out additional details courtesy of Maine Eater here.
