A New Study Claims Heavy Drinkers Have the Lowest IQ

According to a story in the Telegraph, a new study revealed heavy drinkers aren't the most intelligent. This however, doesn't go for all heavy drinkers. The results were shown in young men. It revealed men with lower IQ scores consumed higher amounts of alcohol. According to Daniel Falkstedt, assistant professor in the Department of Public Heath Sciences at the Insitute, it was most likely the low IQ which causes the higher alcohol consumption as opposed to the other way around.

Here's where the contrast kicks in: Not the same deal for women. In fact, it's kind of the other way around. A separate study showed women with high test marks as children in school were more likely to drink daily as adults.
