Is it an honest mistake that came from being nerved up in front of thousands of people, or should he have memorized our nation's anthem beforehand?

The Staind frontman who has taken a turn toward country music over the past few years flubbed a line in the National Anthem Sunday night. He had been invited to perform at the game between the Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park, and flubbed the second line of the song, as he sang “What so proudly we hailed were so gallantly streaming” instead of “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming.

He released this statement.
"All I can say is I’m sorry and ask for the nation’s forgiveness. My nerves got the best of me and I am completely torn up about what happened.
America is the greatest country in the world. ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ means so much to so many, including myself.
I hope everyone can understand the intensity of the situation and my true intent of this performance.
I hope that the nation, Major League Baseball and the many fans of our national pastime can forgive me."
We forgive you Aaron, but only if you deliver I nice, loud rippin' Staind record as your next project!
