Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace to Host ‘True Trans’ Web Series

Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace will be hosting the upcoming AOL Originals series 'True Trans With Laura Jane Grace.' The series features Grace traveling around the country meeting with transgender men and women and sharing their stories. Watch a trailer for the series in the player above.

“The opportunity I had while shooting this show was nothing short of tremendous,” Grace tells Time. “Getting the chance to listen to other people tell their stories of how life shaped their identities and views on gender couldn’t help but further inform my own understanding of just how complicated and also how simple all of it really is.”

The 10-part documentary series kicks off with the first four episodes on Oct. 10 in honor of National Coming Out Day. Along with Grace interviewing others, it also takes a look at her life as a mother, wife and singer since she came out as transgender in 2012.

Against Me!'s latest album, 'Transgender Dysphoria Blues,' was released in January and debuted at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 chart. The song 'True Trans Soul Rebel' from the album inspired the title of the show.

The bands kicks off a tour with Gaslight Anthem Sept. 10 in Washington, D.C.  It wraps up in mid-October, with Against Me! heading to Europe in November. For all the dates, go here.
