I was a HUGE fan of the last Batman trilogy. I think Nolan's darkness and cold, bleak visual of the future anti-hero could be perfect for this series. There's no argument; Akira is the greatest animation movie of it's kind. So this franchise heading to the big screens needs to be handled with the utmost care and consideration. Comic books fans world wide will stand close by ready to call out any slight of hand or oversight. Nolan himself has sterling reputation in the film making world now as well so this MUST be done right. If so, the results and numbers could be astronomical. Blade Runner and Tron meets The Matrix.
