Always A Good Time In Portland

Without thinking about it, Portland, what two things would upset and/or make you happy today?  My vote is for driving someplace, because we rock as drivers,  and a unique meal. Yeah.This is my way of saying, I had no plan for my post, today.  It's kind cool, though, because you can sit staring at the computer screen--like I stare into the fridge when I'm hungry--and something comes to you.  Even if it means you're eating out tonight.

In Maine and in Portland we make the national headlines for all kinds of things: governors, restaurants, fishing, our sheer number of tri-athalons every year, albino lobsters [and how quick we discredit the guys that caught 'em], sea gulls, seaweed, the amount of guano OUR gulls provide, boaters, writers, artists, contractors, musicians, the numerous ways we get through our long winters, and the population boom after something like the winter of '13-'14 wink-wink. And, everybody wants to come up here to have a gander at how we do it. We even have the temerity to invite Bill (freakin') Murray to a bar for a beer, and print posters to commemorate the occasion-whether he shows up or not!!

Left turn: Sure, dating in Portland may suck as you told me, recently--but, speed dating is very much alive and well...so get over it and just clink glasses with someone.  It's as good as staying home, but more outside.
