How not to appeal to a crowd of comedy-goers in Tampa, Florida: Call the Republican nominee for president of the United States an "orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster."

That's precisely what Amy Schumer did last night (October 16) at a show at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, according to The Tampa TimesThe newspaper reports that about halfway into the comedian's set, she skewed political, touching on gun control and the presidential race in earnest. She even invited a Donald Trump-supporter up on stage to explain his political views, and that's when the boos began.

And that's also when Schumer invited anyone who was perturbed by the show's topics to leave. So, about 200 did. Still, it was a relatively small fraction of the arena, which holds close to 21,000 seats, according to its site.

"I don't want to hear that," a fan told The Times. "We wanted to have a good night without distractions with the politics." And other attendees agreed.

Still, discussion of politics, conversely, had a positive effect elsewhere in the show. At one point Schumer, who's been open about having been raped, herself, invited survivors to stand in solidarity with her in light of recent accusations that Trump has sexually assaulted a handful of women.

Surprised to hear about the walk-outs, or does it sound like Schumer made her show a little too political? Share your thoughts in the comments.
