Burger bars have once again seen a resurgence in popularity nationwide, and Maine is no exception. Portland has several very successful ones, and they've begun to pop up in other towns in the southern portion of the state. That includes Biddeford, where the Cowbell Burger Bar has become a downtown staple for food and entertainment. According to the Sun-Journal, that same concept, along with a few extras, will be heading to Lewiston in the very near future.

The Cowbell Tap and Grill will take over the space left behind by Fuel Restaurant at 49 Lisbon Street. Fuel, which had been downtown Lewiston's premier restaurant for more than a decade, closed just a couple months ago and interest in what would be replacing it has been high. Residents of Lewiston can expect a vibrant craft burger bar with some extras, including steaks and fish entrees, as a tip of the cap to the old Fuel restaurant. Additionally, Cowbell will hold 25 tap lines, featuring mostly Maine-brewed selections.

Additionally, Cowbell is known in Biddeford for their theme nights. Whether it be trivia, comedy or live music, Cowbell likes to mix quality food with good entertainment. That's expected to continue at their Lewiston location.

Renovations are underway and the Cowbell Tap and Grill expects to be open sometime after the new year.
