Due to a murky future for the Smashing Pumpkins, frontman Billy Corgan has decided to try his hand in the world of professional wrestling.

Corgan will join TNA Wrestling, which is the closest thing to a competitor that the WWE, the gold standard in pro wrestling, has. Corgan takes on the role as a "senior producer" but will ultimately be involved in creating new characters and writing story lines. Corgan told several wrestling news outlets that working for TNA is a "dream come true" and that he has "a deep rooted passion for all things professional wrestling".

HOT TAKE: The world really is a vampire. I give it 4 months before Billy Corgan runs a faction on TNA featuring washed up WWE guys in some sort of crappy "rock band" gimmick. On one hand, this is sad because the Pumpkins were such mega stars in the 90's and on the other hand, good for Billy Corgan getting out there and doing something legit, like writing and producing for a 3rd rate wrestling company like TNA. This is likely going to amount to "zero"....get it? --JD
