Things were looking good for the Boston Celtics as they returned home looking to build on a three game winning streak until cold shooting and foul trouble derailed their attempt in a 106-102 loss to Dallas.

The Celtics were able to jump out to an 18 point in the first quarter thanks to Avery Bradly who made 12 straight points as part of a 16-2 run. That momentum eventually stalled as the Celtics fell into foul trouble that required constant substitutions. Their shooting went cold and the Mavs were able to hang around finally grabbing the lead with just over 4 minutes to play.

Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 23 points while Zaza Pachulia notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Mavs were also much better getting to the foul line making 35 trips compared to the Celtics 24.

Isaiah Thomas led Boston with 19 points and 6 assists. Jared Sullinger and Avery Bradley each pumped in 18 points.

Next up for Boston is a Friday night game against the Nets at the Garden.
