Something is rotten in the Garden and so far this season it is the Boston Bruins who went to 0-4 at home with a 5-4 loss to Philadelphia.

Boston grabbed a 2 goal lead in the second period after Chris Kelly scored a shorthanded goal that got the home fans excited. Just four minutes later Jimmy Hayes scored his second goal of the season and the Bruins enters the second intermission with a 4-2 lead.

The momentum shifted in the third period when Claude Giroux cut the lead down to one before Wayne Simmonds tied it with his first goal of the season that would stand and send the teams to overtime.

Just over a minute into the extra period Ryan Spooner took a hooking penalty that allowed Giroux to score the game winner 33 seconds later.

Boston drops to 2-4 on the season with all 4 losses coming at home. Next up is a road game against the Islanders in New York.
