The New England Patriots moved to 3-0 on the season after they secured a 27-0 victory over the Houston Texans on Thursday night football at Gillette Stadium.

Jacoby Brissett made his first NFL start and just his second appearance in game action at the professional level and led the Pats to the win.  Brissett went 11-19 with 103 yards through the air, and also scored the first TD of the contest with a 27 yard run in the first quarter.  Game one and two starter Jimmy Garoppolo was said to be active for the game earlier in the day, but was not dressed for the contest.

LeGarrette Blount was also very effective on the ground with 105 rushing yards and scoring twice to put the game out of reach for the Texans.

The Houston Texans struggled with turnovers and had two fumbles during kick returns, while Brock Osweiler also had an interception as Jamie Collins had the pick.  The game also marked the first game of the 2016 season for Rob Gronkowski who played in limited action against the Texans.

Bill Belichick is now 6-0 in his head coaching career when a QB is making their first start on his team.  The Patriots will now have 10 days until the next match-up when New England will host the Buffalo Bills in the final game of Tom Brady's suspension.
