The Boston Bruins played better in their first game since the Winter Classis debacle but not good enough. The Washington Caps beat the B's 3-2.

The Caps have the best record in the NHL so getting down 2-0 in the second period was trouble for the Bruins.

Loui Eriksson scored the first Bruins goal but that key 'next goal' came from the Caps.

A third period Patrice Bergeron goal was too little, too late.

To make matters worse, defenseman Adam McQuaid was injured when he got check head-first into the boards. There was no penalty called on the play. McQuaid did not return to the game and the Bruins gave no update post game.

The Bruins begin a five game roadtrip Friday night in New Jersey.
