Desparation can be a motivating thing and that's the best way to describe the Boston Bruins 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings last night. The win keeps playoff hopes alive but they still do not control their own destiny.

David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Tory Krug, Lee Stempniak and Loui Eriksson all scored goals against former UMaine goalie Jimmy Howard last night.

Tuukka Rask made 13 saves for the win.

The Playoff Picture: The Bruins must beat Ottawa Saturday afternoon and have the Red Wings lose their final game or have Philadelphia lose one of its final two games in order to get a playoff spot.
