Dave Grohl is one of those people who seems like they can handle anything. Give him a broken leg, he’ll design a throne to sing from. Give him an audience of 50,000 people, and he and his band Foo Fighters will get their adoration in no time. But, in a recent interview with GoldDerby, Grohl revealed he has social anxiety when he’s in certain new situations. You can check out the full interview above.

The HBO series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways has been nominated for four Emmys, including a nod for Grohl's directing abilities. The frontman referenced his anxiety when speaking about attending the upcoming awards ceremony. “It’s just going to be such a crazy night, I just can’t imagine," he stated. "I think I’ll feel like that kid who is the new kid at school, the first day at school. I’ll probably just sit down, with my back up against the wall, just nervous, and waiting to see who is going to want to talk to me. I have a little bit of social anxiety. It might seem hard to imagine, but in rooms like that, I kind of clam up. I mean put me at the f--king Grammys, and I know everybody there, and I’ve got a bottle of whiskey in my hands the whole time, but we’ll see what happens.”

We've heard of his whiskey technique before. Earlier this year, Grohl revealed his 'back stage best friend' routine (that was inspired by Dimebag Darrell), “Whenever I showed up at a festival, the first thing I’d do is grab a bottle of whiskey and go knocking on doors to see who the funniest people are. You’d be surprised who the real f–king nutcases are.”

While Grohl claims he’ll feel like the ‘new kid at school’ on Emmy night, he certainly has no issues wining and dining with the most legendary musicans alive. During his chat with GoldDerby, the singer also talked about having dinner with the surviving members of The Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. It was during that dinner that Starr told Grohl that he enjoyed their Sonic Highways series, especially the Washington D.C. episode.

"Not long after that episode came out, I went out to dinner with Paul [McCartney] and Ringo Starr," recalled Grohl. "Ringo was like, ‘Man, I watched the DC episode, I love Go-go!’ I was like, oh my god, I just turned Ringo Starr onto Go-go music!”

Dave Grohl will find out if he and his bandmates are Emmy winners on Sept. 20 when the 67th Emmy Awards take place. We’re pretty confident Grohl's doesn't have to be anxious, as even the biggest Hollywood actors in the world will be excited to chat with 'Good Guy Grohl.'
