Congrats are in order for Deftones, who enjoyed a solid showing this past week with the debut of their new album Gore. The disc secured the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with a solid sales week.

According to Billboard, the album started with 71,000 units moved (69,000 in pure album sales). It's the band's first offering since the Koi No Yokan album, which debuted and peaked at No. 11 back in 2012. It also marks their highest charting spot since their self-titled third album peaked at No. 2 in 2003. The 71,000 units is the band's best sales week since 2006's Saturday Night Wrist sold 76,000 units in its debut week.

Deftones are also off to a solid start with the single "Prayers / Triangles," which is currently at No. 10 on the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart. This marks their fifth Top 10 track on the chart.

In other album sales news of note, Zakk Wylde's Book of Shadows II arrived at No. 2 on the Independent Chart, No. 3 on the Rock Chart and No. 6 on the Current Albums Chart according to Nielsen SoundScan.
