CYY Freaks will remember Billy Campion as frontman for 90's alt groove band, The Bogmen. Then something happened on the way to the supermarket....

Wasn't too long ago, Billy Campion was hootin', hollerin' and hoppin' around the country with one of the most original bands of the 90's, The Bogmen. They landed themselves a big record deal and had songs on radio including here at CYY.

You might remember one summertime way up high Billy scaring people dancing along the edge of the CYY patio to the Bogmen's hit, "Suddenly". Here's some Bogmen reminders...

After the Bogmen, Campion, well, those years are sadly undocumented. NASA has some minor paperwork, but it's under government security. What is known is that Campion mysteriously disappeared and someone or something all of a sudden emerged on the scene resembling him only if he existed on Mars in the late 2500's. Just after the turn of the millennium turn we discovered VIC THRILL; one of the most underrated and overlooked artists of the past couple of decades.

Take Devo, Prince, David Bowie, Bob Barker, James Bond, Jane's Addiction, The Jetsons, the bad guys in Flash Gordon and toss in the kitchen sink and you're headed towards the right ballpark. Yet, VT is most original. There's simply nothing like it and the songs are great! The live show is great! I've seen him go bananas and blow the roof off a joint with just his trusty sidekick/guitarist, Saturn Missile.

Max Headroom's real life form? Some say it's possible. Regardless of his confirmed identification, VIC THRILL has been given us such a futuristic sound full of fun, wild and unexpected happenings. Much needed in music today. Reckless abandon from another space and time with minty fresh smile!

It's been a while since the full length debut, CE-5, but I highly recommend you find it somehow and own it. It's one of my fav albums since the 90's. VIC THRILL is still among us for scientific purposes. A music being like this doesn't happen very often and if it does, it's never really believable. As far out as VIC THRILL is, he is very believable. For those not yet on board, get on board and blast off with VIC THRILL. Check all the videos out, they're all great in their own way. The interview piece at the end is great too. Great stories including the Tina Fey story!
