Any old band can post an advance stream of their new album, but not every band also gives you the opportunity to bash 16-bit mutant while you listen.

Toronto noise punk outfit Dilly Dally have launched a retro, Mortal Kombat-inspired video game in support of their upcoming debut full-length, Sore. In the game (which you can play here), you choose to play as one of the four members of the band and then throw virtual punches at a purple mutant in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Check out screen shots:

For the uninitiated, Dilly Dally is the band of longtime friends Katie Monks (sister of Tokyo Police Club’s David Monks) and Liz Ball. They formed the band in high school in 2009 and quickly carved out a place for themselves in the Toronto punk scene. After releasing a handful of singles and a 7", they're set to release Sore on Oct. 9. Stream it below via Spotify.
