Three decades later... it's tough to beat an original. Most importantly this song will help people, but music wise, what do you think about the new Band Aid? Check it out here!

The focus of this new Band Aid group for 2014 shifts is to help find a cure for Ebola and to treat those suffering from the disease. That is the most important thing and for that, we are all hoping this song is a huge success.

Now, on the music side - what do you think?

I'm not a huge fan myself. It's not cause they have cheesy English boy band pop stuff in there (cause let's face it that will help this cause in a major way). It's just, the original still sounds so great. The singers were 1000x better too weren't they? This one doesn't feel honest enough to me. I have this feeling that everyone was sitting around on their phones the whole time not embracing the gathering, the moment. I could be wrong. The vocal line changes are a bit silly and kind of forced (Bono's part is in the same place as the original version, but sings a different line that just doesn't feel right Or am I just used to the original?!). Major lack of rock and alternative too. Muse, Mumford, Arctic Monkeys, Damon Albarn are some successful UK acts in recent times that could have taken part. Maybe Geldoff wanted to go more pop. And at that, where was Adele? Robbie Williams? Eh, who knows!

But again, I don't think the music really matters as much. The cause is priority. I'm just geeking out on the music side cause... that's my thing folks. Sorry!
