Boy we sure do love our Dunkin' Donuts here in Maine. So much so that you'll soon find Dunkin's in the Oxford Hills just a half a mile a part from each other.

According to the Sun Journal, the Norway Planning Board has approved a new Dunkin' Donuts in the location of the former Tim Horton's on Fair Street, across from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

That location is just a mere half a mile away from the Dunkin' Donuts in South Paris that has been there for over 30 years.

As you can see, that's a 2 minute drive or an 11 minute walk between the two.

So can two Dunkin's exist this close to each other? Both the Dunkin's will be owned by the same franchisee and at this time they have no plans to close the South Paris store in favor of the new Norway location.

This isn't the only location in Maine with Dunkin's this close together. There are two on Lisbon Street in Lewiston only 0.7 miles apart.

The two Dunkin's on Lisbon Street may be just less than a mile apart, but they both are ALWAYS busy, so maybe this isn't a crazy idea at all?

How close is too close for two Dunkin' Donuts? For Mainer's who run on Dunkin', we can never have enough.
