You can't beat Downtown Portland during the holidays. The city is already buzzing with events and it will continue with the monthly First Friday Art Walk.  The folks at Creative Portland have gotten the green light to close down the downtown section of Congress Street so folks can explore both sides of Congress and all the offerings the First Friday Art Walk will be showcasing this month. Highlights include:

Monument Square:
6pm - Portland Ballet in the library windows
Dark Follies performs 5 to 8 in the square

MECA:
Annual Holiday Sale
Donation Row - Come meet some of Portland's cultural movers and shakers. Come get your glow sticks from the Creative Portland table.

Congress Square:
Films in the Square w/ Creative Portland. The friends of Congress Square, and the Via Agency have teamed up to present video art in the square.

Portland Museum of Art:
The lighting of the Copper Beach Tree at 7pm.

Congress and Park Streets:
The Sugar Plum Fairy Performers from 5 to 8pm
