The retailer continues to suffer losses nationwide, and 4 stores in Southern Maine will be part of a plan that closes 500 stores across the country.

It's been a rough couple years for Radio Shack. According to Business Insider, the company filed for bankruptcy for a second time last week and announced that they will close additional stores across the country in attempt to maintain themselves as a viable business. Four of those stores will be in Maine.

The stores that will be affected in Maine include:

  • Alfred Street, Biddeford
  • Route 1, Falmouth
  • East Avenue, Lewiston
  • Main Street, Sanford

Radio Shack says that some stores will close immediately while others will remain open in the first week of April. The stores were chosen because of "low sales velocity and high rent".
