As I've spoken with people over the past couple of weeks and expressed my excitement for longer days and warmer weather, people typically agree. However there are the other two responses...

1: You know where you live, right? Yup, sure do. Doesn't mean I'm not excited for summer!

2: This winter wasn't even that bad. Nope, sure wasn't. Doesn't mean I'm not excited for summer!

It's a bit "wintery" this week but it's comin'!  Got some spots open on your calendar? Here are some fun things happening in the near future.

April 14-17: Reggae Fest at Sugarloaf

This is a big one that happens every year. You don't have to hit the slopes to get excited and participate in this years four day party. This tradition has been going for almost 30 years! Ballyhoo are a fun reggae pop/rock band from Aberdeen, MD and will be the band to really get you thinking spring! Maybe you saw them open for Pepper recently at the Asylum. Click here for more info and the full weekend schedule!

April 16-24: Acadia National Park is FREE

It's National Park Week and the oldest national park east of this Mississippi is celebrating by allowing people to visit for free for nine days in April. Acadia, located up near Bar Harbor, is a beautiful one stop spot to view mountains, an ocean shoreline, forest and lakes.

May 14th: Street, Eats and Beats

This our event and it's always a party. This is where we take over the Ocean Gateway Parking Lot on the waterfront in Portland and fill it with food trucks, beer taps, live music and you! This will be the third annual. We're still working on everything but be sure to check back for more details soon. Here are some pics from last year.

The Maine Today came up with a full list of things to do this spring. Here's the list.

Don't forget to see what's happening at the Maine State Pier and Portland's newest outdoor venue Thompson's Point this spring and summer!
