Some people have already purchased the 'smart' thermostat from retailers. Some consumers are now a bit weary of their purchase after learning that Google has purchased "The Nest" for 3.2 billion dollars. This could potentially give Google a lot more personal information about us, other than just what we are looking up on our computers. For example, they will know if we are home, due to movement. Since it's Google and they have always taken privacy seriously, that doesn't seem to be the main concern among consumers.
