Governor LePage took a bold step today when he joined 15 other states pushing to allow companies to fire gay and transgender employees without violating work discrimination laws.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the Governor joined a brief filed with the Federal Supreme Court asking it to overturn a ruling against a funeral home that fired a transgender worker shortly after that worker informed a supervisor that they were transgender.

Governor LePage joins 15 other governors, mostly in southern states, in the push to overturn the ruling.

Maine Democrats tweeted their disapproval of the Governor's move.
