The 2014 Grammy Awards was yet another successful broadcast of the annual event, but within the worlds of rock and metal, a tremendous amount of controversy and perceived disrespect caused a heated worldwide conversation. Most spiteful amongst Grammy performers this year was undoubtedly Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, who offered a strong "F--- You" to the Grammys, but now the award show's Executive Producer has offered a public apology to Reznor.

The Grammys helped create a brilliant all-star jam to close out the 2014 awards broadcast. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails + Fleetwood Mac legend Lindsey Buckingham came together for a monumental performance, but the multi-band jam was inexplicably cut short as the Grammys went off-air. Not To mention the ending credits and sponsors were shown over the performance while it was going on.

Early in the morning on Jan. 27, Trent Reznor cut through the B.S. and went for the throat in response to the truncated performance:

In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Grammys Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich offered Reznor an apology. "I’m sorry he was upset," begins Ehrlich. "I was really thrilled that we were finally getting him on the Grammys. The final jam started with Arcade Fire a few years ago, and LL Cool J last year. I want to end on a high, an up note. I did tell them we’d take it as long as we could. The number was about five, six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get."

When it comes to inexcusable acts of disrespect, the Grammy Awards omitted deceased Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr along with late, legendary Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman, a two-time Grammy Award winner, from the broadcast's 'In Memoriam' segment. As of this posting, the Grammys have yet to apologize, or even comment, on Clive or Hanneman's exclusion.
