Lately, there have a few instances in Maine of people being caught excessively speeding. Rarely though, do they attempt to outrun the cops. But that's exactly what happened last night in northern Maine.

According to Bangor Daily News via The County, a 24-year-old man from Minot attempted to outrun the Maine State Police in his 2006 Chrysler Sebring. At one point, the chase reached speeds of 115 miles per hour. Eventually the driver turned off of I-95 and crashed his car going too fast around a corner. Trooper Tim Saucier then apprehended the driver, who allegedly was under the influence.

The operator of the car was not seriously injured in the crash. However, the 24-year-old man was charged with OUI, criminal speeding, failure to stop for an officer and operating a vehicle without a license.
