To celebrate the impending release of Interpol's brand new album, 'El Pintor,' the band hosted a party among some of New York's stiffest residents at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's ancient Egyptian collection, the Temple of Dendur.

Backed by bassist Brad Truax and Secret Machines keyboardist Brandon Curtis, Interpol only played three songs from the new album -- 'All the Rage Back Home,' 'My Desire' and 'Same Town, New Story' -- but treated fans to songs from all across their catalog.

Brooklyn Vegan reports they played one song each from 2007's 'Our Love to Admire' and their self-titled 2010 album, and more from their 2002 breakthrough, 'Turn on the Bright Lights' as well as the 2004 follow-up, 'Antics.' The band fittingly closed the show with a performance of 'NYC' from 'Bright Lights.'

'El Pintor' is set to drop Sept. 9.
