It’s All About Lars, Not the Bass According to One Engineer
According to Engineer, we now know why Metallica's "..And Justice For All" sounded so bottom-LESS.
Hey, it's his band. His and James. They can do whatever they want, but if this is true, it was a bad move. Kind of selfish too. Nothing was gained. It took away a lot really.
Read this side of the story here and keep in mind, this is ONE SIDE to the story. Although I'm sure most of us would tend to believe this side. Two people I'd love to hear from is James and Jason to clear the air though. Jason knows the parts he played and James is the Siamese twin to Lars so he knows whats going on at all times with ANYTHING that band does. Make sure to read the last paragraph! OUCH! How he held off from laying him out, I'll never know.
Side note; I'd love to hear this record sounding right. It's one of my fav Metallica records and yet it doesn't quite represent a band as much as it does it's specially featured performers.
