There's sad news to report as Jack White's touring keyboardist, Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, has died. Mexico's Periodico Digital reported Owens' death, stating that the musician was discovered dead in his Puebla, Mexico hotel room Tuesday morning (Oct. 14).

According to the report, drugs and alcohol were found in Owens' room, but an official cause of death is still under investigation. The keyboardist was 38.

"It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah "Ikey" Owens. He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans," says a statement on the Third Man Records website. "Ikey Owens was an astounding keyboard player in Jack White's backing band. He also played with Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents, and many other projects. Out of respect for Ikey, the remaining shows of the Jack White Tour in Mexico have been cancelled. We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist."

Owens joined White's touring band in 2012. The keyboardist also appeared on The Mars Volta's albums from the 2002 'Tremulant' EP and their 2003 'De-Loused in the Comatorium' debut full-length through the 2008 album 'The Bedlam in Goliath.' He's also made guest appearances on discs from Sublime, Mastodon, Rival Sons and others.
