Apparently, we just can’t stop demanding the hits of LCD Soundsystem.

It’s only been four years since LCD Soundsystem called it quits and played their final show at Madison Square Garden, but rumors that surfaced earlier today (Oct. 8) spread hope the James Murphy-led outfit wouldn't remain silent for much longer.

Both Consequence of Sound and Billboard independently cited sources that reported LCD Soundsystem would reunite for three, if not more, 2016 music festivals in the U.S. and the U.K. While the band has not directly confirmed the rumors, CoS noted the Murphy-owned DFA Records retweeted their report, but that tweet appears to have since been deleted.

DFA manager Kris Petersen has denied the stories in a statement to Vulture:

LCD Soundsystem is not reuniting at Coachella next year. I’m sure some festivals have offered the group a giant tempting pile of money, but there is no truth to this. Can we all just move on with our f---ing lives?

Likewise, DFA co-founder Jonathan Galkin refuted the rumors to Pitchfork.

A reunion on the 2016 festival circuit would mark the five-year anniversary of LCD’s breakup. Murphy and company disbanded not quite a year after dropping their third album, This Is Happening. They released their self-titled debut in 2005 which was followed by 2007’s Sound of Silver.

The 2012 documentary, Shut Up and Play the Hits, captured the lead-up to the band’s massive farewell gig at MSG and an interview between Murphy and Chuck Klosterman. The 2011 concert -- which featured guest appearances from Arcade Fire and Reggie Watts -- was chronicled in the 2014 live album, The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live at Madison Square Garden.
