The holidays are a time to hear some good news, and this story right here fits the bill. A person on Maine's Reddit shared a post 2 and a half weeks ago about how their dog was missing. They had gone out on a hike and the dog (who was rescued from a shelter) got spooked and ran off. Since that day, the owners have been looking for their pup daily with no success. But like the perfect ending to a Disney movie, they woke up early Sunday morning to some soft barking at their back door. Their lost dog was lost no more.

The owners state that their dog managed to survive in some pretty serious weather conditions over the last 2 weeks with only minimal injury. Some minor frostbite on his lips and between his paws as well a few scratches. Feeding seemed to be a problem for the pup, who lost some significant weight on his journey through the wilderness. Despite all that, he was overjoyed to be home and finally able to rest. If this photo the owners shared doesn't warm your heart, nothing will.

This story also serves as a important to reminder to those who have lost pets to not give up hope. 2 and a half weeks feels like an eternity when your pet is lost, but there is a real chance they'll find their way home. Just like this good boy did as the perfect holiday gift.
