Next month, Montage of Heck director Brett Morgen and UMe will roll out a collection of Kurt Cobain releases, including a 7” featuring the Nirvana leader's cover of the Beatles’ “And I Love Her” backed with his own demo, “Sappy.” The latter song has now surfaced ahead of the single’s November arrival. Take a listen above.

This early “Sappy” demo comes more than 20 years after Nirvana’s version, which can be heard at the bottom of the page. Titled “Verse Chorus Verse,” the song appeared as a hidden track on the band’s 1993 charity compilation, No Alternative.

The “And I Love Her”/“Sappy” single is slated for a Nov. 20 release; you can pre-order it now at Amazon. Both songs will also appear on the standard and deluxe editions of Kurt Cobain -- Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings, the Cobain solo album comprised of rare audio uncovered by Morgen during his research for his documentary on the late Nirvana frontman.

The standard version of The Home Recordings will include 13 tracks, while the deluxe copy will have 31 (see the standard track list right here). Both albums will arrive as a digital download and on CD and cassette on Nov. 13 along with the Montage of Heck DVD. The album will be issued on vinyl on Dec. 4.
