Maine will be represented in March, when an executive chef from Dysart's in Bangor competes on Food Network's popular show "Chopped". According to WCSH6, Shaun Yazbek (who goes by the name Chef Yaz) already taped an episode of "Chopped" that is scheduled to air on March 1st.

For those that have never seen the show "Chopped". four chefs compete for a $10,000 prize at the end. Each chef is given a mystery basket of ingredients that they must incorporate into their dish. After each round, they are judged by a panel of celebrity chefs, and one of the competing chefs is eliminated. Typically, round 1 is an appetizer, round 2 is a main course and round 3 is dessert. The last chef standing wins the grand prize.

Despite the fact that Chef Yaz's episode has already been taped, he isn't allowed to discuss what the mystery ingredients were in the baskets. Or whether he was victorious or eliminated early. But according to Food Network's own website, Chef Yaz may very well face meatloaf mix, fennel, a purple veggie and apple pie as some of his obstacles.
