A 21-year old from Newport, Maine was arrested by police and charged with multiple crimes after he attempted to avoid being captured by hiding inside a box spring in his home.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Zachary McFarlin was apprehended by Maine State Police after dodging arrest for more than two months. He's been charged with multiple crimes, including animal cruelty and domestic violence. Police reportedly received a tip that he was at his mother's residence and when police searched that home, they found McFarlin.

But it's where they found McFarlin that makes this an odd story. Inside the home, McFarlin was hiding beneath a mattress in one of the bedrooms. A box spring that held up that mattress, had a cut out portion large enough that McFarlin could lay in it. Police were not fooled.
