McDaniels, Patricia Hot Coach Candidates

With five NFL head coaching vacancies already and more likely, here come the phone calls to the New England Patriots. 'Can we have permission to talk with one of your coaches?'

The Miami Dolphins have asked for permission to talk with both offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. It is unclear whether either has interest.

There is some speculation that McDaniels might have some interest in the NY Giants job now that Tom Coughlin has stepped down. And, McDaniels has been linked to the Titans opening.

At the moment, the Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tennessee Titans, the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns have openings.

Under NFL rules, teams can talk with potential coaches during this week with playoff teams in a bye week.
