Not to be confused with your Social Studies text book, the History books are open. I suppose I will preface that with "rock history." On November 11th, 1995, the Smashing Pumpkins double album Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness went to #1 on the charts.

I luckily held down a part time job when the album dropped, allowing me to purchase it when it was released. If it had been 10 years prior, I would've had to save up my allowance...probably for a month. Damn double albums weren't cheap! I think the retail price was $24.99 for the CD and $19.99 for the tape.

"Tonight, Tonight" was maybe my favorite video of the 90's. It won 6 MTV Music Video Awards: Video of the Year, Breakthrough Video, Best Direction Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction, and Best Cinematography.
