Mt. Katahdin is almost a rite of passage for Mainers. You could stand at a street corner anywhere in the state and ask people if they've hiked it, and from just about all of them, you'd get a yes. The braver ones might even tell you they've hiked the infamous Knife Edge trail, which is, coming from someone who's climbed Katahdin before, the absolute definition of NOPE.

See what I mean?

There are, however, a few Mainers that haven't gotten around to it yet. They might say "next year" every single year, or just be too plain lazy to hop off the couch (I can relate). If you're one of those people, and you're tired of having to lie about it to your friends and family, we have the answer... Or, at least, YouTuber Dan the Meatball does. Check it out:

In this 30min video, Dan chronicles his 9-hour journey from bottom to top to bottom again of Maine's biggest mountain. The weather couldn't have been better, and it does a great job of showing off how incredible the sights up in Baxter State Park really are.

So, hopefully the lazy among you found the video so motivating that you actually go and hike it! For the rest of you... please pass me the pizza box.
