A great first period, terrible second and third periods. That's the best way to describe the Boston Bruins season opener loss to Winnipeg 6-2.

A David Krejci goal and steady defense got the B's off to that good start but then the roof caved in on an inexperienced defensive unit. Turnovers killed the Bruins and led to Jets scoring on several occasions.

Boston is playing without their two best defenseman, Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg, both out with injuries.

The early schedule doesn't get any easier - vs Montreal Saturday and Tampa Bay on Monday.
