While browsing on YouTube today, I saw a thumbnail for a video that shows a lobster on a leash. Being a Mainer born and raised who also happens to love lobster, I clicked.

It's actually a pretty funny political ad from 2010 urging Mainers to vote no on question 1 on the June ballot. According to Ballotpedia, here's how the question read:

Do you want to reject the new law that lowers Maine's income tax and replaces that revenue by making changes to the sales tax.

Mainers voted no, possibly with the help from this ad saying that 'Mainers know a bad idea when they see one,' like trying to take a lobster for a walk on a leash.

 

Political ads typically can be pretty boring and rarely have humor. It was nice to see a break from the same old same old.
