When David Ortiz hit that 8th inning 3-run home run last week to help beat the Texas Rangers, who knew Big Papi broke a world record...the slowest home run trot since someone started charting such things.

The website tatertrottracker.com does just that. And the Ortiz trot around the bases took 32.91 seconds. that's a second and a half slower than record holder Bobby Abreu.

In fairness to Papi, he was trying to see if the ball would stay fair around Pesky's pole...but as you can see below he does hold 7 of the top 10 slowest times ever!
