Patriots Sign OL Williams [VIDEO]
With the injury bug starting to infect the New England Patriots roster, the team added some depth to help their depleted offensive line with the signing of tackle Brennan Williams on Tuesday.
Nate Solder went down with a season ending injury last week and his replacement Marcus Cannon left Sunday's game with a foot injury so the team has added the 6'6" 310 pond Williams to help fill that void. Williams was an 8th round draft pick of the Houston Texans last year and spent the entire season on injured reserve. He was released in July and spent training camp with Jacksonville before getting cut at the end of training camp.
Williams was a 3-year starter at the University of North Carolina and his father Brent Williams once played defensive end for the Patriots from 1986-93.
Special teams player Matthew Slater, wide receiver Julian Edelman and defensive tackle Jabaal Sheard also suffered injures on Sunday. Their status for this week's game against the Jets remains unknown.
