It was a good news bad news night for the Boston Red Sox as they beat Baltimore 5-1. That's the good news. The bad news is Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez suffered injuries.Clay Buchholz set the tone for the Sox by keeping the Orioles off balance through his 7 innings of work. He struck out 7 and scattered 8 hits while picking up his 5th win.

Boston scored all 5 runs in the 6th inning but it came at a cost. After Mookie Betts singled in a run Dustin Pedroia drove in 2 more with a single that resulted in him leaving the game with a hamstring injury suffered while running up the line. David Ortiz would cap the scoring with a monster homerun to center field.

Xander Bogaerts had 2 hits in the game but also lined a ball off the hand of Hanley Ramirez who suffered a left hand contusion and is considered day-to-day.

The Sox have won 5 of their last 8 games and will try to win the series this afternoon when Eduardo Rodriguez takes the mound for Boston.
