NESN loses another popular personality for their Red Sox television coverage before the beginning for the 2017 season.

Red Sox fans have become accustomed to a plethora of attractive and talented female on field reporters during NESN telecasts. Hazel Mae, Tina Cervasio, Heidi Watney and Elle Duncan all served in that capacity for the network over the last decade which is why the popularity of one particular on-field reporter was a bit surprising.

According to Michael Silverman, that reporter, Gary Striewski, is leaving NESN to pursue new career opportunities. As a Red Sox fan, and someone who watched a lot of NESN broadcasts, he will truly be missed. Striewski was the best on-field reporter in terms of wit, sarcasm and back-and-forth with NESN analysts Jerry Remy and Dennis Eckersley.

It was a slow start in New England for Striewski, who wasn't received well initially by the viewing audience. But after some hilarious side segments with Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy, as well as his off the field hit, the Red Sox Kids Clubhouse, New Englanders warmed up to Striewski. In fact, Red Sox fans expressed frustration with NESN last summer when Striewski wasn't part of more NESN telecasts.

Striewski obviously appreciated the love, as he penned this note thanking Red Sox fans.
