We're lucky to have great people in the live music scene and great venues to stage our favorite music. We've had some doozies as well no doubt, but overall this town has great rooms. It takes good people to room good rooms though.

For years Ken Bell has been an important part of the local music scene with his former club, The Big Easy. He built a strong reputation and earned solid credibility from his honorable work supporting local musicians and giving them a place to play that they can feel good about. Local show goers recognized that care so the love then continued for Ken with his customers. Not many people can open a new venue already wearing a gold medal coming out of the starting gate.

Tonight history is made again in the Portland music scene with the opening of a wonderful new venue! On the corner of Temple and Federal Streets, HOME Portland House of Music and Events opens it's doors with confidence and excitement. To give you a peek at the club and some inside story to the place, check out this quick video!

(This footage was taken in the last days before the room was officially opened. Lot of hard work was going on until the last minute)

Needless to say, the best way to get a feel for the place is just go there for a show! R&B soul, rock, jazz, funk, hip hop - HOME will be a home for all kinds of music, local and beyond. There's a parking garage above the building so parking, not a problem. Couldn't be easier. See for yourself and enjoy the HOME sweet home.
