Portland's lively restaurant and nightlife scene has seen some amazing success in recent years. And while the successes still far outweigh the failures, not every single place will survive. That's true of Portland's unique throwback to the Rat Pack days of supper clubs, as Crooners & Cocktails has officially closed for good.

According to Meredith Goad of the Portland Press Herald, Crooners & Cocktails closed officially last week at some point, with no plans to reopen. In fact, there's already signage up at 90 Exchange Street that the space is for lease.

The closing will probably come as a surprise for many. Reviews of the bar/restaurant on Facebook, Yelp, and TripAdvisor all ranged from very good to terrific. Even with those positive reviews, and a standout concept, Crooners fell victim to the intense competition in downtown Portland.

In other words: Crooners & Cocktails has officially flown to the moon.
