Along with his all-female band, 3rdEyeGirl, Prince set a new record with his eight-minute long performance on last night’s (Nov. 1) episode of ‘Saturday Night Live.’ Check out his unforgettable medley of brand new tunes above.

This appearance marked the iconic rock star’s first on ‘SNL’ since Feb. 4, 2006. Unlike nearly every musical guest before him, Prince only performed once during the episode (rather than twice), but that one performance was one of the most electrifying we’ve witnessed in a long, long time.

Focusing purely on new material from his latest album, ‘Art Official Age,’ and his collaboration with 3rdEyeGirl, ‘Plectrumelectrum,’ Prince and company tore through four songs in those historical eight minutes, including ‘Clouds,’ ‘Plectrumelectrum,’ ‘Marz’ and ‘Anotherlove.’ Lianne La Havas, who appears on the studio track, was on hand to help Prince with 'Clouds.'

When Chris Rock was asked to return to 'SNL' as host after 18 years, he made one simple request: Prince has to accompany him as his musical guest. We're guessing Rock had no idea what was in store when his wish was actually granted.
