With things continuing to warm up outside, he weekend can't ever come soon enough. With nothing but Mother's Day brunch on the horizon (for me, anyway), let's see if we can't fil our schedules with some cool shows. Here's what I've got this week:

THURSDAY 5/10

Grassholes
The Liberal Cup (Hallowell)
7:00pm Show
Free
All Ages
- I love a good band name, and these guys definitely have it down. With an authentic, old school bluegrass sound, these guys are sure to have you tapping your foot. Nice banner on the back of the stage in the video, by the way ;)

FRIDAY 5/11

Jonathan Davis (of Korn)
Aura (Portland)
6:30pm Doors / 7:30pm Show
$35 Tickets
18+
- We've been talking about this show all week on CYY, and for a good reason - it'll be awesome. Jonathan Davis has been teasing his solo album for a while now, and this show will be your best shot at hearing some of those new tunes before they drop on the 25th.

SATURDAY 5/12

Abbie Gardiner
One Longfellow Square (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$15 Advance / $20 Day of Show
All Ages
- The Dobro is one of the coolest, most underrated instruments out there. Played with a slide, that thing can get everything from country and bluegrass sounds, to the off-kilter Hawaiian sounds from Spongebob Squarepants. Abbie Gardiner is a total pro on the Dobro, and a great vocalist to boot.

SUNDAY 5/13

Model Airplane Presents: Bring Your Mama to Funk Day
Portland House of Music (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 7:30pm Show
$15 Advance / $18 Day of Show
21+
 - For those of you out there with exceptionally cool mothers, it would behoove you to check this show out. Model Airplane are putting on a special show that offers a funkier, more interesting alternative to trying not to spill your mimosa on the doilies at brunch.

Well, that's the list this week. If you have a show you want to check out that I didn't mention, feel free to drop a link in the comments and spread the word.
