Now that it's nice out, the weekend feels like it can never come soon enough. Musicians in particular feel that way because that's when they can make enough to actually pay some of the bills we neglect in favor of buying new gear (I myself am particularly guilty of this). So, with that in mind, here are some shows to go to this weekend!

FRIDAY 5/18

El Malo
She Doesn’t Like Guthrie’s (Lewiston)
8:00pm Start
Free
All Ages
- This event is bound to defy pretty much everyone's expectations. El Malo, of Portland, describes themselves as "Salsacore," which means they'll have more of an aggressive sound than your typical latin dance band. Rock and roll! (Though maybe not quite...)

Third World
Aura (Portland)
8:00pm Doors / 9:00pm Show
$25 Tickets
18+
- This reggae band has been at it for longer than almost anyone in the game, and still sound fantastic. This show is definitely for those hwo aren't looking to "rage" as hard this weekend.

SATURDAY 5/19

All Roads Music Festival
Various Locations (Belfast)
12:00pm Onwards
$25 Pass Advance / $30 Day of Festival
All Ages
- For local music lovers, this is absolutely where you want to be. Featuring performances by The Mallett Brothers Band, to Spencer Albee, to Weakened Friends and just about everyone else that makes music in Maine, this all day, multi-venue event is bound to have something awesome for all attendees! Check this link to get more information about venues and performance times: http://allroadsmusicfest.org/schedule/

Keep Flying, The Long Year, Real Talk, Secrets You Can’t Keep
Geno’s (Portland)
8:30pm Doors / 9:00pm Music
$8 Cover
21+
- A 4 band pop-punk bill at Portland's favorite rock club? Sign me up. These bands showcase some of the best of what the local scene has to offer for this titan of a genre. Highly recommended all around!

That's what I've got for this weekend! As always, if you know about a show you think everyone should check out, feel free to drop a link in the comments!
